"The Maze Runner" is the brainchild of Utah author James Dashner. We had the chance to interview him just as 20th Century Fox optioned his book. The film's getting huge buzz--here the trailer: what do you think?
Behold the Awesome: on the 30th anniversary release of "Ghostbusters" on DVD, plan to remake the original were just announced--this time with an all-female cast of Ghostbusters. I vote for Melissa McCarthy from Bridesmaids!
The legendary Joan Rivers passed away late Wednesday night with her daughter Melissa at her side. She was 81. Joan was a groundbreaking force in the comedy world for women--the first to host her own late night talk show. Everyone in Hollywood was terrified of what she'd say about them: and terrified she wouldn't. Here's some of our favorite memories.
Remember last year's MTV VMA's and Miley's awful "performance" with the twerking and the foam finger and the weird Robin Thicke crossover? The girl totally redeemed herself last night. When "Wrecking Ball" won Video Of The Year, she sent a very nervous young man named Jessie up to accept her award. Jessie is homeless, and he spoke about the kids wandering the streets. Here's more info on her Homeless Initiative: https://www.facebook.com/MileyCyrus
We avoided the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge as long as we could--but when the Challenge was made, it's on. We challenged KUTV2's Mary Nickles to join us, and she dragged along Ron Bird as well. Then we thought--hey! We'll challenge our boss, John Kimball! THAT was stupid. But the intrepid president of Broadway Digital Media showed up and drenched along with us. To everyone who donated so generously to the cause--thank you!! If you'd still like to donate, the website is www.alsa.org. Thank you!
The Turtles topped the box office again last weekend with another $28 million--beating out the release of "The Expendables 3" at a measly $16.2 million. Remember when the "Transformers" franchise dumped Megan Fox for questioning the director about why her character had to be so dumb? Looks like she jumped on to the TMNT bandwagon at the right time--the film's made more than $117 million in 2 weeks.
FanBoys and FanGirls, unite! Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy," the story of the dorkiest heroes EVER has banked over $300 million world-wide in just 9 days. That's the biggest August box office opening in history, baby! Long live Groot! Long live Rocket! Long live...uh...those other guys!

Did you feel the earthquake last night along the Wasatch Front? The epicenter was in Bountiful--3.3! Our earthquakes always remind me of that scene in "LA Story" with Steve Martin, where they're so used to earthquakes that they don't even interrupt lunch.
Erin here: 150 mph on a two-up bike with pro rider Chris Ulrich. Okay. I get it. I TOTALLY get it! PS: they'll be back at Miller MotorSports Park this summer--don't miss it! Photo credit: Rick Eagen, SL Tribune
Watching Pet Psychic Jennafer at work is always fascinating. How she "reads" an animal, and how the beast responds to her--so interesting! Here, she reads our emotionally needy portuguese waterdog, Gille. And the woman was SPOT ON.
Looking for something "Spring-ish?" Cooking With Todd & The Toddler tackle the leg of lamb.
Nathan Fillion (aka Captain Tightpants) is absolutely the best storyteller in Hollywood. Even though we've interviewed him several times, we'd never heard the story about his first role on "Saving Private Ryan" and why it was almost his last role in the industry...have a listen.
